Hollywood Spectra Melasma Management

Lutronic Hollywood Spectra 1064/532nm laser platform has recently launched in the South African market. Distributed by Stern Laser, the device safely treats all skin types and numerous aesthetic concerns.

When it comes to pigmentation, the Hollywood Spectra boasts a real 5ns pulse width, minimising impact and optimising efficacy for treating all types of unwanted pigment. Additionally, its Intellibeam™ technology at 1064 & 532 nm reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, ensuring safer treatment outcomes.

One of the standout features of this device is its SPTP+™ technology which not only reduces the number of treatments required but also decreases the risk of pigmentation rebound. This allows practitioners to treat areas rapidly without exceeding the threshold for side-effects.

Melasma, in particular, poses a challenge due to the potential for pigment rebound, even after traditional treatments, such as IPL and other laser therapies. However, the Hollywood Spectra’s multi-pulse mode offers sustained improvement of melasma, providing patients with long-lasting results.

Among the treatments offered is the renowned Hollywood Laser Peel®, known for its effectiveness in treating acne and enlarged pores. This specialised procedure involves the application of nano carbon particles to the skin, lifting impurities from the pores. Subsequently, the carbon is heated, and the Spectra setting is applied, vaporising dirt from the skin within 10 -15 minutes.

Adding another layer of innovation, the HyperSurge Resonator™ delivers high peak acoustic pressure that exceeds most picosecond lasers. As the fluence increases, patients may experience a high-pitched sound – a testament to the acoustic shockwaves that stimulate collagen production without using heat.

This laser can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including unwanted pigment, multicolor tattoos, melasma management, post-acne erythema, Nevus of Ota, Lentingo, freckles, seborrheic keratosis, and large pores.
